The closest town, Brunswick, is 20 minutes away, and is a small college town of 15,000 people. The population of Harpswell consists of approximately 5000 people, many of whom make their living from the sea. It is a rural town with local attractions including salt-water fishing and kayaking, as well as places offering a variety of fresh seafood.
