Chicken Butchering Workshop
In this workshop we will be killing, plucking (using the wet pluck method) and cleaning some old laying hens.

Soap and Cheese Making Workshop
Because the cheese making process has two stages with a wait in between, the Soap making will be conducted between the beginning and end of the cheese making.

Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Location: 13 Green Meadow Road, Harpswell, ME
Cost: $70
Materials: participants must bring lunch and a shoe box for a soap mold.
Beef Butchering Workshop
In this workshop we will be killing, cleaning, skinning, and cutting and packaging an 11-month steer. This is a 2-day workshop intended to teach people to do on-farm butchering for their own consumption. The first day will be for killing, cleaning, and skinning. The second day will be cutting and packaging.
Date: Day one: Saturday, Novemeber 7, 2009; Day two: Saturday, November 14, 2009
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Location: Day one: 71 George Luce Road, Waldoboro, ME; Day two: Avalon Road, Lyman, ME
Cost: $70
All Workshops are limited to 10 participants each.
